Schlosshof in Völs am Schlern

A break with a view of Prösels Castle
Looking for a holiday in a tranquil, picturesque setting, far away from the city’s hustle and bustle? Doesn’t sound too bad, does it? We have a great idea!
View
But one thing at a time: The tranquil village of Presule is less than a 20-minute drive from Bozen/Bolzano. This village of around 150 inhabitants, located just a stone’s throw from Völs am Schlern, owes its name to the impressive Schloss Prösels, which is almost 800 years old.
Not far from there, or rather directly opposite, is our Schlosshof. Five apartments in the heart of the Dolomites, each offering views of a spectacular panorama.

Immerse yourself in nature, only minutes from Bozen

But that’s not all: Hiking enthusiasts can set off directly from the Schlosshof to various destinations, enjoy farm-fresh products, indulge in culinary delights in Prösels, or simply enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. Those planning a trip to the provincial capital of Bozen can reach it in no time by bus. Here, Germany’s southernmost city meets the country where, according to Goethe, lemons grow: Italy. Where liver dumplings meet spaghetti, and both share the spotlight.

For wine lovers, however, we recommend a tasting of the selection from Prackfoler Hof, the original estate of Schlosshof. Just a few kilometres away, grapevines bloom, from whose grapes the award-winning wines of the Patrick Planer winemaking family are produced.

In short, it is the simple diversity that defines us – but see for yourself.

Apartments offering comfort with a personal touch

Comfortable holiday apartments with South Tyrolean charm
As they say... still waters run deep. The same applies to our residential units. That is because what may seem inconspicuous from the outside is, upon closer inspection, quite spectacular.
Do you need some examples? Gladly! All holiday apartments have a fully equipped kitchen, satellite TV and are furnished with various natural materials and elegant details.
In the main house, you will find the lovingly designed Schneewittchen (“Snow White”) and Hänsel & Gretel apartments, each featuring two balconies. The Rotkäppchen (“Little Red Riding Hood”) apartment also has a large balcony and a private, fenced sunbathing lawn.

The Himml (“Sky”) and Homat (“Home”) apartments offer special comfort with a private sauna directly on the balcony. Balconies and terraces face all four directions and give these two apartments a unique sense of exclusivity.
From all accommodations, guests enjoy panoramic views of Prösels Castle, Völs am Schlern, the local mountain Schlern, and the Ritten plateau opposite.

The underground garage has charging stations for electric cars, there is ample parking on the property, and in the underground connecting passage between the two buildings, guests will find a small library with interesting information about South Tyrol as well as a small farm shop with local products. Hikes directly from the Schlosshof

From the Schlosshof, you can step directly into a small hiking paradise. A gentle walk takes you up to Tuff Alm, where panoramic views of the Dolomites and a welcoming alpine terrace await. The Oachner Höfeweg, on the other hand, winds through meadows and forests, passing traditional farmsteads – perfect for experiencing both landscape and culture. And for those seeking more altitude, a climb up to Hofer Alpl awaits: a peaceful mountain trail offering impressive views of the Schlern and Dolomite peaks.

Tours in the Schlern area

In the Schlern area, hiking trails await that will immediately delight nature lovers. Embark on a hike to Schlernhaus /Rifugio Bolzano, rising over 2,000 metres, and be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Dolomites. The Seiser Alm presents itself more gently, but is every bit as breathtaking: With wide meadows, tranquil forest paths, and breathtaking views of Schlern, Langkofel and Plattkofel, every hike here is pure enjoyment.

Routes in the Rosengarten area

Those wishing to explore the Rosengarten area should start in Tiers and hike via the Wuhnleger with its magical lake up to the Tschafon hut. After the climb through forest and alpine meadows, a magnificent view of Rosengarten, Latemar, and Schlern awaits. And for those seeking a bit more height, the Völseggspitze can be reached in just a few minutes – a quiet spot with an impressive panoramic view of the Dolomites.

Trails in Gröden

The Gröden valley is also a wonderful starting point for unforgettable hikes: from gentle paths around St. Ulrich/Ortisei and into the magnificent Langental valley /Vallunga, to impressive high-altitude routes beneath Langkofel/Sassolungo and Plattkofel/Sassopiatto peaks, everyone can find their own Dolomites experience here. And along the way, you will repeatedly encounter the traditional woodcarving for which the valley has been famous for centuries – a lovely reminder of how closely nature and craftsmanship are intertwined in this region.

The swimming Pond of Fiè

In summer, the Pond of Fiè is a popular destination for all nature lovers. With its clear, fresh water, the lake offers the ideal conditions for swimming and boating. It’s a paradise for hikers as well, given that the lake is surrounded by picturesque hiking and walking trails. The wonderful view of the nearby mountain Sciliar will provide unforgettable memories.

South Tyrolean winter magic

snow, silence and countless activities
Not only summer, but also winter has its own unique charm in South Tyrol. This is not only because frosty temperatures and snowfall transform the local villages and forests into a winter wonderland, but also because the cold season offers many opportunities for physical activity.
